Details: Aivars Kalejs is Concert Organist at the Riga Dom Cathedral, and one of the most talented and versatile Northern European musicians to emerge internationally. He has performed solo recitals and toured with various ensembles throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Kalejs is also highly regarded as an improviser, musicologist, and composer, for which he has won numerous awards.
The concert will include works by Mozart, Mulet, and Rimsky-Korsakov, as well as several pieces by contemporary Latvian composers. Also included will be his own composition, Musica Dolente, written in memory of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
Requested donation:
$15 general seating,
$5 high school & college students,
children under 13 admitted free.
Tickets will be available at the door.
